
Mention of strength training and lifting weights or machines immediately comes to mind. But there are many types of strength, not just "maximum" strength. I want to show how strength training body weight is excellent for increasing each type of force, and why you should use your own body weight first, as a permanent part of your strength training.
So, what is strength?
Well, a simple definition of strength is the ability of your body has to exercise and skeletal muscle strength against resistance. Resistance may be the weight of his own body, the weight of something else, or both. Thus, the most capacity you have to move your own body or an object in your environment, the stronger you are.
And being stronger has its benefits:
- You can do more with your body and the objects it finds in its environment
- To reduce the risk of injury due to increased capacity to control his body and other objects
- You can gain confidence, knowing that it is the force behind the moves
- You can meet the challenges of sport, work and life easier
- And it looks better, because its strength is clearly visible in the muscles strong
But the truth is that there are many different types of force. And I think everyone can be improved in training strength with body weight. Here we will look at the three main types of strength: maximal strength, explosive strength and strength endurance.
Body weight training For maximum strength
The maximum force is the amount of force that can be produced from one, all their efforts, regardless of time or weight.
Some people say weight training is best for maximum strength training, and for some exercises that are right. However, many students being used to perform exercises with weights, because they can not handle the weight of his body. For example, many men and women do Lat Pull Downs, because you can not do UPS pull ups or chin.
There are many other bodyweight exercises that can build maximum strength. How about an arm or leg pushups squats as builders force? Most weight lifters can not perform these exercises, regardless of the weights they use in their training.
Body weight training explosive strength to strength
The explosive force is the force per unit time, and is also known as speed strength. Therefore, it is much can generate force in the shortest amount of time. As for weight training, which means how fast you can move the body from one position to another.
Think of explosive movements like jumping squats or plyometric plates where your body is propelled with such force that actually leaves the ground. Is this type of force is important? Absolutely!
Body weight, strength training for the resistance force
Strength endurance is the amount of force that can generate during a long period if time. It is the ability to be as strong as possible as long as possible. This type of force is characterized by being capable of performing a movement repeatedly without being overcome by fatigue or sacrificing form.
When you think of bodyweight strength training, this is usually the kind of strength people think. Rhythm, repeated gymnastics body weight, for example, builds resistance force.
As you can see, there are a lot of different types of force. And you can train each using their own body weight. No resistance is necessary.
Think of it this way. The training is not specific. If you do some kind exercise, to be better in this exercise. So if you are training for all purposes, the force (which included the maximum strength, explosive strength) when the purpose of carrying out the movement is its own body, there is no better tool calisthenics bodyweight.
Strength Training Bodyweight should be the starting point, and a continuous part of worldwide throughout the training program.
