You are using "lighter weight" as an argument?! No wonder you are losing! Change brake routing shuold never do to "save weight." Yes, you will save a little weight but change will not improve overall performance. Improve the braking performance but lose the ability to twist the bars. Repairs are also much easier and much less expensive. That said, I imagine you had something to say in the choice of the bike and if I were your parents will not let me change either. I remember that back in late 80 's, each woman had a raincoat Vinyl or raincoat, either black or some vibrant color. Since then, when it rains, people just use the color coats the pavement, and all are exactly alike, or carrying a T-shirt or something. Why this change of fashion and ever again? I mean, if bell bottoms can return, why not color, waterproof vinyl?
First, bellbottoms are so 90's. But I agree with you, many women are afraid of color today. I am from New York, and women are very fashionable. They should not be afraid to make a fashion statement. I realize the women here, use colors and many of them. It coincides with the most? Nobody! That match their clothes, her purse and shoes are so overrated. I have a raincoat, brown one is for work and the other is blue-green for a day with friends. I agree with you.
