How do I connect four speakers to a mini system cheaply and safely?
I use a cheap CD system to provide background music for a room. I do not need great sound and would prefer not having to buy amplifiers, etc. My plan is to install four car speakers in the ceiling of the room and connect two to each output in the mini system. Mini Speaker System has 6 ohms impedance. Can I connect the speakers of the car two of 12 ohm in parallel for each output of the amplifiers without ruining the system output? An alternative would be to wire Speakers Two of 3 ohms in series with each output, but I think the first speaker on the circuit more power and therefore the volume levels would be mismatched. If you can not find speakers impedance index necessary, may I add resistors in parallel them to forge a total resistance of 6 ohms? Any suggestions? Anything else I need to consider? Thank you.
OK you have … But the series does He noticabley a quiter than the other. Parrellel = 1 / 2 = impedance of the series X 2 You can have more than 6 ohms without damage to the speakers or amplifier (in his system mini), but if you have less than 6 ohms that will blow your output transistors in the output stage amplifier. Good luck it sounds do not need you!
