Is there a small IV needle is allowed to handle the pink medicine?

I kept sticking right through the artery. they say is the smallest needle allowed to handle the medicine, (iv needle pink), but I wonder why. What about baby? Do they stick baby with large needles too? I'm still bleeding and bruised great they are after an IV …. I hate the way it feels and looks and want a smaller needle! I'm clinging to false hope or is there a smaller one for use in an adult?

First, we must distinguish between veins and arteries. The drugs are injected in the veins, so if it is blocked through an artery that were fishing in the wrong place, whatever the size of the needle. Still, I agree that the right to go through the vein can cause a nasty bruise. Secondly, we are talking about needles or cannulas here? A cannula is a tube plastic that slides over the needle tip and may be fixed in place in a vein for intravenous infusions or repeated injections IV. It is important because the colors and sizes different. A 18-gauge needle is pink, which is larger than a pink cannula (20 gauge), but a green needle (21 gauge) is less than a cannula green (18 gauge). He is absolutely right that the sizes do not use in babies, and I can tell you that regularly use small needles (green and blue) in adults (and also small cannulas, pink and blue, when the fast flows were not needed). No need to use large needles IV, even in an adult, unless that an oily solution is being injected.
