Well, what is oil pulling? Oil pulling (often referred to as swirls of oil or oil swish), invented by Dr. F. Ukraine Medical Karach, MD, is basically the process of oil swishing around the mouth (think mouthwash unless using oil in place) for a period which is usually about 15-25 minutes. It is known as "Kavala Graham" in the texts of Ayurveda.

So why would someone so crazy even remotely have any interest in doing this? Dr. Karach has said that his method of healing a person as a whole. When Dr. Karach studied its oil under a microscope after retiring, discovered many living organisms swimming in it. He himself was cured of his chronic blood disease of which suffered over 15 years! The main premise oil that is pulled by swishing oil inside the mouth, the toxins get "pulled" into your bloodstream and in the mucous conducted study entitled membrane.One by Sharath, et.al, set out to determine the effectiveness of throwing oil on the oral health status using sesame oil. There was a drastic decrease microorganisms in plaque and plaque samples, concluded that oil pulling is an effective home therapy to maintain and improve oral health. In another study enrolled 10 men (all subjects had mild to moderate gingivitis), and conducted a survey of 45 days of oil pulling. Using sunflower oil, each subject held oil in the mouth for 8-10 minutes. This study also concluded that pull the oil has the ability to reduce plaque and gingivitis by sunflower oil (AMITH et al. 2007).

As you can see for now, there is no scientific evidence and more studies, no doubt, will take place in the future. There is clearly a proven oral health benefits of oil pulling, but the good thing is the oil to throw health problems? What kind of changes you can experience in addition to the changes in your mouth? As discussed, the benefits of oil pulling is matchless.
