I put all my weight on my collapsible baton and never collapsed. Only would collapse if not properly locked on pin joint, or if you weigh 500 pounds. While you do not put a million pounds of pressure on the cane (which is not the proper use of the cane, for starters) or while you should never closed Collapse!
