According to a study by the American Massage Therapy Associatoin (AMTA), more people are receiving massage therapy for medical purposes than for relaxation. The survey also found that baby boomers have more massages than those who are younger and are more likely to get massages for medical reasons.

"It's no surprise that people are turning to massage therapy to improve their wellness," said Dr. Leena S. Guptha, president of the AMTA. " It is a way to manage pain, recover from injury, and improve their quality of life, often reducing the need for medications or invasive treatments.

Almost a third of Americans say they have used massage therapy at least once for pain relief - just behind those who have turned to chiropractic% (38) and physical (44%) treatment. Those who have tried massage therapy for medical reasons report several reasons, including pain management, injury recovery pain, general welfare, and control of headaches or migraines. The benefits of massage therapy are also being supported by a growing number of reports physicians. An academic study published in the 2007 Julu Complementary Medicine based evidence shows that professional massage therapy can be more effective than some other therapies in managing certain types of pain, especially in lower back pain, shoulder strain, or headaches. The AMTA is quick to point out that is important for consumers to find a professional massage therapist increases the use of massage therapy.

Among those who have had a massage in the last five years the baby boomers had an average of just under 20 massages, while an average of about 10 massages for those between 18 and 44. It also appears that the immediate postwar generation tend to most often seek massage for health conditions. Thirty-eight percent of 45 to 64 years said the massage service had received for medical reasons, while only 25 percent of people between 18 and 44 before massage as the reason for the treatment of pain.

In fact, of all people surveyed, 87 percent of people agree that massage can be effective in reducing pain and 85 percent agree that massage may be beneficial for health and wellness. Only 39 percent of respondents believe massage is "just for pampering."

This belief is reflected in doctors' offices as well. One in five people indicated that they have discussed massage therapy with their doctors or healthcare providers. Between those who have had that discussion, more than half said their doctors had "highly recommended" or "encourages" the use of massage for pain management and wellness.

When looking for help with the pain, consumers have a choice of massage therapies to achieve a pain free lifestyle. The trigger point therapy identifies a narrow sector within the muscle tissue that causes pain in other body parts. A trigger point in the back, for example, can cause pain in the neck. What are the advantages and disadvantages for the semi-reclining against two conventional bicycle wheel tricycles?

I have not heard the term "semi-recumbent" in reference to tricycles. Semi-Cycle recumbents offer a "crank forward" or "flat feet" design that places the handle and in front of headquarters. This is a standard design incorporated in most tricycles, tricycles though fully recumbent are a different animal. Advantages of semi-recumbent "trike" design include: 1. The ability to put both feet on the ground while sitting and standing (although you can keep your feet on the pedals on a trike) 2. Greater security that is comfortable to mount shorter distances at slower speeds common on bike paths. The support can sometimes be mounted to it. 3. No need to lean forward to reach handlebar 4. Basically the same comfort as a fully recumbent bike / 5 trike. You can bring a big basket to carry grub and foam 6. Suitable for towing a trailer for children at low speed 7. No need to lean against a tree or post or put it on the floor when you're away from her 8. Good for people without of balance or are afraid or two wheels. Disadvantages: 1. Overweight 2. Difficult to transport 3. Too wide for practical use on busy roads 4. Slower 5. Hard to pedal uphill 6. A little more expensive 7. More difficult to avoid the bumps, potholes and other hazards 8. Three tires $ means opportunity for tires replacement and over 50% to 50% more flatting 9. The low resale values These are the positive / negative I can think of. I think horrible is exceptionally pure, however, and opt for something a little more aesthetically pleasing.
